Cinema Revival Documentary Fund

Friends of River Oaks Theatre is looking to fund post-production and distribution of CINEMA REVIVAL, the working title of an upcoming film about how a passionate community and a local visionary businessman saved the last historic arthouse theatre in Houston, TX: the River Oaks Theatre. Houston is one of the most culturally rich cities in the US. The arthouse and building were almost lost to the pandemic and lack of state and federal historic designations. This fall, a public exhibition of the work-in-progress film will be held with a panel about navigating Houston indie film production. Fundraising is for post-production (editing, score, art and sound mix, intro, credit art, closed captioning, narration, paying licensing fees for archival media, distribution, marketing, etc.), including filming the grand opening.
